About the Lombard Odier Gala
The Lombard Odier gala is the centrepiece of our film season, A WORLD TO WIN. Firstly, the gala screening takes place on International Womens Day, March 8. We work in collaboration with Mosfilm studio in Moscow to create new English language subtitles for this once banned film. Francine Stock, BBC Radio 4 Film Programme presenter, introduces the film at the sold out screening. Lombard Odier Private Bank kindly supports this sold out screening of Andrei Smirnov and Larisa Shepitko’s once banned film.
Results
At the Lombard Odier gala, Kino Klassika brings together our friends, Art Social and the Lombard Odier film club. Before the screening, Alina Uspenskaya and Art Social host a champagne reception with Kino Klassika founder, Justine Waddell. After the sold out screening, Duncan Macintyre, CEO of Lombard Odier UK, hosts a dinner for Kino Klassika friends at Scott’s Mayfair. Because of the generous support of Lombard Odier we are able to celebrate the role of women in film. Furthermore, we are able to shine a spotlight on the work of Larisa Shepitko. Above all, Larisa Shepitko is one of Russia’s most important and most overlooked female film directors.
Guests attending the screening include chair of the Russo-British chamber of Commerce, Roger Munnings CBE and Duncan Macintyre, CEO of Lombard Odier UK. Also founder of Art Social Alina Uspenskaya attends with Marina Fedun, as well as Erin Morris, Lali Marganiya, Irina Yastrebkova and Selma Day of the Mayfair Times. Vladimir Tsarenkov and Irina Kargina as well as Denis Shafranik and Natasha Pochekutova also attend as well as many other special friends.
At Lombard Odier we take pride in challenging ourselves to find the best possible financial solutions for our clients. We are delighted to support Kino Klassika in its ambition to challenge audiences with the best of classic Russian cinema programming.
