The 300 page coffee table book is written by Naum Kleiman, the world’s leading Sergei Eisenstein scholar, and former director of the Eisenstein House Museum in Moscow.  It is published in collaboration with leading art publishers Thames & Hudson and boasts a foreword by Martin Scorsese and an essay by Ian Christie.

The publication will include a collection of never before seen drawings from Sergei Eisenstein’s graphic archive, including detailed childhood doodles and comic strips, elaborate set and costume designs for theatre productions from the 1920s and then a full range of mature works for both personal expression from Eisenstein’s time in Mexico onward as well as working drawings, storyboards and design plans from his films including Alexander Nevsky and Ivan the Terrible.
