Kino Klassika supports the eagerly awaited publication of
Eisenstein Works on Paper, the first comprehensive study of the extensive yet rarely seen graphic works of Sergei Eisenstein. This monograph of over 400 drawings traces Eisenstein’s development as draftsman from early childhood sketches, to later designs for theatre and film sets to the abstract and experimental works of his late career.

Marking the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, Kino Klassika presents Sergei Eisenstein’s 1928 film masterpiece, October, which recreates the events of October 1917. This British premiere gives us an opportunity to see the film accompanied by music originally composed by Edmund Meisel with the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Frank Strobel.

Kino Klassika will host a season of screenings, talks and events with Regent Street Cinema to mark the centenary of the October Revolution. The season opens with Sergei Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin, the iconic film the revolution inspired, and goes on to examine a century of revolution on film.
